Animal Rescuer

Isn't she the most amazing animal rescuer around?

Carsyn got a new swim suit today and she's a little excited about it. She selected it because it was purple, her favorite color, and sparkly. She's been wearing it for about 3 hours.

Next she needed socks so she could skate.

Then came the glasses to complete her super hero look.

Finally she found a baby crocodile and needed to take him back to his family.

Carsyn has an amazing imagination and the vocabulary to explain her thoughts...and the voice to do all of this really loudly. It's great to be 3!

Dedicated to the One You Love

Tony and I stood in front of our church, our God, our family and our friends to dedicate Ty to the LORD.

The Reed family.

The Bowers/Hargrove clan.

Nothin Can Stop Us Now

Here is an old video I forgot to publish back in January. Carsyn was singing in the bathtub. She loves to make up songs. Please realize this video was taken for the audio, the picture is just of the wall.

Getting Churchy

Ty made his first appearance at church today. He didn't make it to 'Big Church', but we got to Sunday School on time, AKA 10 minutes late.

He was a rock star. Slept through the whole thing. This was a good trial run for Baby Dedication next week.

1 Month

This sweet boy is a month old already. Ty, you are such a great baby! Your Daddy and I are so thankful. You are very relaxed and seem to just roll with it all. Your big sister's extra loving. A million people in and out of our house. Then there are the basics...learning to eat and sleep.

You wear a NB diaper, but will graduate to a size 1 tomorrow after we use the last 3 NB diapers in the box.

You are still in all NB clothes.

Weight is an estimate: 8 lb 10 oz

The Second One is Always Different

What they say is true. The baby gets to do everything sooner. Carsyn watched TV at 2 years. Ty is watching it at 2 weeks.

Carsyn was watching a Dora show and wanted baby brother to join her. So I said, sure. Let me get him all set up.

PS…band aid on Carsyn was self applied. The wound was self inflicted. She had a blanket over her head and walked into a wall.

Carsyn found a pair of sunglasses for her and baby brother. What a lucky guy to have such a cool big sister!

Bath Time

IMG_0666 We’ve been home a few days and Ty had a big photo shoot coming up, so it was bath time! Only he still had orders from the doc to not be submerged so, sponge bath on the counter top it was.IMG_0669It was a family affair. Pretty sure Carsyn was the only one who enjoyed it. Ty was not a fan, but he sure smelled good afterwards. I assume this is just my realty now as a mom of a boy. Boy’s like to play hard and aren’t eager to clean up.

Siblings

Carsyn adores her new baby brother. She likes to snuggle with him and give him kisses. I thank the Lord she is so sweet and kind with Ty.

Carsyn is handling a new baby in her house really well. There are a few signs of stress and change, but none of them have manifested in a dislike of Ty. Once she’s asked if Ty could sit with Granny so she could sit with me, but for the most part she has been very generous. Carsyn has captured A LOT of special Daddy time that has really helped her feel secure and loved.

Freedom!

IMG_0660

Baby boy is free! Daddy cut his hospital id bracelet off this morning. He’s been home since Saturday, but I just hadn’t taken it off. I’m not really sure why. Tony did the honors after Ty’s Newborn wellness doctor’s appointment.

While I was still in the hospital with Ty and Tony and Carsyn were home trying to get well…Carsyn asked Tony why he had his hospital bracelet on. He explained why he needed to wear it and told her he still had the bracelet he wore when she was in the hospital. Carsyn thought that was so cool and asked to see it. She was rather persistent and Tony was able to produce the bracelet from his night stand. It made her feel so special he still had her bracelet and it made me love him even more. How awesome to still hold on to that first identifying symbol of fatherhood.
